Faycing Up to Reconciliation

Judith has been active in the Lismore community for many decades. Part of her activity in the community has been working with First Nations community to foster reconciliation and develop a safe and nurturing cultural community. Judith has coordinated Lismore’s People for Reconciliation, Voice’s Together Choir and is involved with community groups such as Lismore’s Reading for Reconciliation group.

Judith was very close with many Bundjalung Elders who are no longer walking their lands with her. She keeps these amazing people close to her heart and shares the prayer of her Bahai faith to remember their spirit, strength and truth.

In this video we catch a glimpse into the influence and joy that Elder Aunty Faye Smith brought to the Widjabal Lands (where Lismore is built). Faycing Up Day 2004 was created by a community of dedicated souls working together to create reconciliation.

Judith misses her dear friend Faye with great sorrow, but wishes to share the legacy of Faycing Up Day 2004 with you. Please enjoy these inspirational memories. (Viewer advised- the film contains footage of deceased individuals.)
